Managing Feelings of Fear

When the child within me is afraid,

I feel her fear in my body in the present time.

As I feel her fear,

I recognize it as a call from her for love and safety.

I respond to her by aligning with the wise,

loving woman within myself and I let her know that she is safe.

I lovingly hold my little one in my arms

and assure her that she has nothing more to fear,

that her fears are merely shadows of a time long past.

I comfort her by saying,

“I am the loving adult that you always needed,

and I am here to love you and protect you.

You are loved.

You are safe.

This body is safe.

I promise that your needs will always be met.

You are safe to be who you are,

to speak your truth,

and to express yourself as you want.

All of your emotions,

desires, needs, wants,

and expressions are welcome here.

I love you unconditionally and I will never leave you.”
